The mountain climbing season is the two months of July and August. From the four entrances to the mountain, buses operate up to the fifth station of the trail. At the summit, there is the Asama Taisha Oku-no-miya (Shinto shrine) and a post office that is open only during the summer season.

Fugaku Wind Cave and Narusawa Ice Cave

The wind cave is a lava cave that is a Japanese natural monument. It is a 200 meter long horizontal cave in the Aokigahara forest. The ice cave is a concentric vertical that is more than 150 meters long and is also a Japanese natural monument. You will be able to observe ice caverns, ice lakes, and ice pillars.

Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Jinja

It is said that the shrine was first established to stop the eruption of Mount Fuji. The shrine is located at the entrance of one of the trails up Mount Fuji, the Yoshidaguchi trail.
The shrines Togu-honden is a designated important cultural asset of Japan and it is said to have been built by Takeda Shingen. It is also a World Heritage asset.

It is the name of the 8 springs that were created from the melting snow of Mount Fuji that seeped underground after a long period of time. The location used to be a lake more than one thousand years ago, and the beautiful water that continues to spring out was selected as one of the hundred exquisite waters of Japan in 1985.

It is only a three minute cable car ride from the Kawaguchi-Kohan Station at an elevation of 856 meters to Fujimidai Station at an elevation of 1075 meters. You will be able to enjoy a beautiful panorama view of Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi. Cable cars have been renewed in 2015.

Arakura Sengen Jinja

Arakura Sengen Jinja

It is one of the designated one hundred Kanto Fuji scenic locations where you can enjoy a majestic view of Mount Fuji and the Churei Tower (a monument for the faithful who died in battle). The park is located half way up the Arakura Mountain and faces Mount Fuji, thus allowing a view that takes in the entire Fujiyoshida City. During spring, cherry blossoms will be at full bloom in the park.
